On Monday (March 23), Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain—the Minister of Social Welfare and a member of the BNP Standing Committee—confirmed this information while providing the latest update on his physical condition.
Dr. Zahid Hossain stated that, according to information provided by the doctors, various health parameters regarding Mirza Abbas are showing positive signs. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), he is on the path to recovery. However, due to complications related to his brain, it will take some time for him to make a full recovery. On behalf of the family, prayers have been sought from the people of the country for his speedy recovery.
It is worth noting that Mirza Abbas was transported from Dhaka to Singapore General Hospital via air ambulance on March 15 to receive advanced medical treatment.

Mizanur Rahman Sohel—Mirza Abbas's Private Secretary, who is currently in Singapore—reported that around 10:00 AM on Monday, doctors assisted him in moving from his bed to a chair, which is considered a significant positive sign. He is now gradually able to speak, and his treatment is continuing under close observation.
Mirza Abbas's wife, Afroza Abbas, and his son, Yasir Abbas, are constantly by his side at the hospital. They have requested the people of the country to pray for Mirza Abbas's complete recovery.
