State investigators missed evidence in Sandra Birchmore death, trial reveals
A State Police investigator testified Wednesday that detectives failed to collect key physical evidence and did not immediately pursue the man now accused of strangling the 23-year-old woman. The case was initially ruled a suicide before federal authorities intervened.
