Polio Survivor Paul Alexander Lived 70 Years in an Iron Lung, Defying Medical Expectations
Paul Alexander contracted polio at age six in Texas and spent more than seven decades inside an iron lung, becoming the longest-known survivor to use the device. He built a legal career and lived independently until his death in 2024.
