VIRGINIA — Notre Dame College alumni from Bangladesh, the United States, Canada and other parts of the world are preparing to reunite for the Second Global Convention 2026 on Saturday, October 31, in Arlington, Virginia. Organized by the Bangladesh Notre Dame Alumni of North America (BNDANA), the international gathering will celebrate lifelong friendships, shared memories, and a collective commitment to humanitarian service.
The convention will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Arlington, bringing together former classmates, teachers, and their families for a day of reconnection, fellowship, and reflection on their cherished college years at Notre Dame College in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
For many Notre Dame alumni, the gathering represents much more than a reunion. It is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, revisit treasured memories, and strengthen the bonds formed during their formative years. Inspired by the spirit of “Purono Shei Diner Kotha”—a beloved expression of nostalgia for the days gone by—the convention is expected to create a warm and memorable atmosphere for generations of Notre Dame alumni.
According to the organizers, alumni living in different U.S. states, Canada, Bangladesh, and other countries are expected to participate with their families. Those who have not yet registered are encouraged to complete their registration promptly. Alumni from any country are welcome to participate, with registration and event details available through the organizers’ designated link.

A Tradition of Giving Back to Bangladesh
Beyond friendship and fellowship, the Notre Dame alumni community has demonstrated a commitment to supporting humanitarian and public welfare initiatives in Bangladesh. Through the collective efforts and contributions of alumni, various charitable activities have helped people facing hardship and limited access to essential resources.
These initiatives include constructing and donating permanent homes for disadvantaged families, providing medical assistance, offering educational scholarships, and supporting projects designed to create employment opportunities.
The upcoming global convention is also expected to provide a platform for discussing future humanitarian initiatives and identifying additional ways to support vulnerable and underserved communities in Bangladesh.
By bringing alumni together across geographical boundaries, BNDANA hopes to strengthen collaboration, encourage new ideas, and expand opportunities for collective action. The gathering will serve not only as a celebration of shared heritage but also as an opportunity to explore how the alumni network can continue contributing to the welfare and development of their homeland.
Distinguished Teachers and Alumni Expected to Attend
Among those expected to attend is Sushanta Sarkar, the popular physics teacher associated with Notre Dame College, along with other distinguished members of the Notre Dame community.
The presence of respected teachers and fellow alumni is expected to make the convention especially meaningful, giving participants an opportunity to express their gratitude, renew old friendships, and celebrate the lasting influence of their educational experience.
For many former students, the memories of classroom lessons, campus life, extracurricular activities, and friendships formed at Notre Dame College remain an enduring part of their personal journeys. The convention will offer a special opportunity to revisit those experiences while building new connections for the future.
Strengthening Global Bonds Through Shared Purpose
The Second Global Convention 2026 reflects the enduring spirit of the Notre Dame alumni community—a spirit rooted in education, friendship, mutual support, and service to society.
As alumni and their families prepare to gather in Arlington, the event is expected to reinforce connections among Notre Dame graduates worldwide while opening the door to new collaborative initiatives for the benefit of disadvantaged people in Bangladesh.
For BNDANA and the broader Notre Dame community, the convention carries a message that extends beyond nostalgia: the friendships and values nurtured during college can continue to inspire meaningful contributions to society long after graduation.
