London, April 29, 2026 — Two people were injured in a knife attack in north London on Wednesday in what authorities and community groups are treating as a suspected antisemitic incident.
According to the Jewish volunteer security group Shomrim, a man was seen running along Golders Green Road — a neighborhood with a large Jewish population — while armed with a knife and attempting to stab members of the public. The suspect reportedly targeted individuals identified as Jewish before being confronted by community responders and later arrested by police.
The victims, two Jewish men, were injured in the attack and received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital. They are reported to be in stable condition.
Emergency response was swift. Members of Shomrim and a Jewish volunteer ambulance service assisted at the scene before police arrived and detained the suspect, using a Taser during the arrest.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as “deeply concerning” and said authorities are fully investigating the case, with counterterrorism officers involved in examining possible motives.
The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from political leaders and Jewish community organizations, amid growing concern over a series of recent antisemitic incidents in London, including arson attacks on Jewish community sites.
Police investigations are ongoing.
