CENTCOM claims no ships made it past the US blockade of Hormuz in first day
As the US block of the Strait of Hormuz continues, the United States Central Command, a part of the US Department of Defence, said that more than 10,000 US sailors, marines and airmen in a dozen warships and aircraft are carrying out President Trump’s mission to “blockade ships entering and departing Iranian ports.”
“During the first 24 hours, no ships made it past the US blockade,” it said in a statement posted on X.
The statement added that the blockade is “being enforced impartially” and is only intended to impact ships entering or exiting Iranian ports, and that others going through Hormuz would have “freedom of navigation.”
