Manikganj | July 18, 2026 (Sunday)
The "One Child, One Tree" program officially launched at 10:00 a.m. today at Nabagram Government Primary School in Manikganj Sadar, an initiative aimed at building a greener, more livable Bangladesh for future generations. Afroza Khanam, MP, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, attended as Chief Guest and inaugurated the ceremony.
In her keynote address, the Minister said:
"Today, we have not gathered merely to inaugurate a program. We have come together to pledge our commitment to building a greener Bangladesh for the next generation. We are placing a tree in the hands of every child and planting the seeds of a better tomorrow through every tree."

She further stated:
"Under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Tarek Rahman, the present government is working to build a modern, green, and livable Bangladesh. We believe that development is not only about constructing bridges, roads, or buildings. Development becomes truly meaningful when nature is protected, the environment is safeguarded, and people become environmentally conscious. Therefore, planting a tree is not merely planting a sapling—it is a commitment, a responsibility, and a gift to future generations."

During the event, the Minister thanked the people of Manikganj for their trust and confidence in her, and sought their prayers and support in fulfilling the district's aspirations. She then officially launched the program by planting a tree alongside other participants.
The Manikganj Sadar Upazila Administration organized the event, which was attended by officials from the district and upazila administrations as well as local dignitaries.
