Fidelity ETF Termination: Special Distributions Announced for Two Canadian Funds

Two Fidelity ETF products will be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange and terminate at the close of business on July 24, 2026, Fidelity Investments Canada ULC announced on July 17, 2026. The affected funds are the Fidelity Canadian Monthly High Income ETF and the Fidelity Global Monthly High Income ETF, both held as Series L units.

Estimated Special Distributions for Terminating Fidelity ETFs

The announced figures represent estimated special reinvested distributions only, calculated as of July 10, 2026. Because the estimates reflect forward-looking information, the final amounts may shift. Fidelity expects to release the final special reinvested distribution figures on or about July 27, 2026.

The special distributions will be reinvested, and the resulting units will be immediately consolidated. This structure ensures that the number of units held by each investor will not change. Payments are scheduled to occur prior to the terminations on July 24.

Risks Behind the Forward-Looking Estimates

Fidelity cautioned that the forward-looking statements carry inherent risks and uncertainties that could cause actual distributions to differ materially from current estimates. Material factors that could drive such differences include:

  • Actual amounts of distributions received by the funds

  • Portfolio transactions

  • Currency hedging transactions

  • Subscription and redemption activity

The company noted that exchange-traded funds are not guaranteed, their values change frequently, and past performance may not be repeated.
