Dhaka, June 25, 2026: A colorful event is set to bring the sweet taste of organic fruits from the hills, unique agricultural traditions, and the rich cultural diversity of the hill communities to residents of the capital. Under the theme “The Aroma of Hill Fruits, the Diversity of Life,” the three-day Hill Fruit Fair 2026 will take place from June 27 to June 29, 2026, at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex on Bailey Road. The fair is being organized by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.
The fair will be officially inaugurated at 10:00 a.m. on June 27 by Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, who will attend as the chief guest. The inaugural session will be chaired by Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Secretary of the ministry.
Special guests at the opening ceremony will include Dipen Dewan, Member of Parliament for Rangamati Hill District; Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan, Member of Parliament for Khagrachari Hill District; Saching Pru, Member of Parliament for Bandarban Hill District; and Madhabi Marma.
This year’s fair will feature a total of 30 stalls representing the three hill districts of Bandarban, Khagrachari, and Rangamati. Visitors will find an impressive collection of seasonal hill fruits, including mangoes, pineapples, jackfruits, and bananas, alongside rare and exotic varieties such as wild red fruit (Rosco), rambutan, and wild wood apple.
Residents and visitors in Dhaka will have the opportunity to enjoy fresh, chemical-free fruits from the hills while also experiencing the lifestyle of hill communities, their traditional handicrafts, and handwoven textile products made on waist looms.
Organizers believe that the fair is more than just a marketplace for fruit sales. It aims to expand market access for fruits produced by small-scale farmers in the three hill districts, raise public awareness, and create a sustainable connection between producers and consumers. At the same time, it is expected to provide city residents with a valuable educational and cultural experience.
Special attractions will be held every evening during the fair, featuring traditional cultural performances by indigenous artists from the three hill districts. Organizers have already taken all necessary administrative measures to ensure smooth management of the event and the safety of visitors. Promotional campaigns, including banners, festoons, posters, and advertisements in national newspapers and television scrolls, have also been arranged across key locations in Dhaka.
The fairgrounds will remain open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily from June 27 to June 29. Everyone is warmly invited to join this festive celebration of the fruits, traditions, and cultures of Bangladesh’s hill regions.
