New York, June 2: Honorable Member of Parliament for Bangladesh’s Mymensingh-4 (Sadar) constituency, Abu Wahab Akanda Wahid, is currently visiting New York. He recently arrived in the United States and has been meeting members of the Bangladeshi community through a series of courtesy visits and informal gatherings.
A reception in his honor will be held on Wednesday at Ruma’s Kitchen, located at 37-01 61st Street, Woodside, NY 11377. The event is being organized by Mymensingh Abroad USA Inc., an organization representing expatriates from Mymensingh living in New York.
According to the organizers, the reception will bring together members of the Mymensingh diaspora, community leaders, business professionals, and representatives of various social and cultural organizations. During the event, MP Abu Wahab Akanda Wahid is expected to discuss development initiatives in his constituency, the contributions of expatriate Bangladeshis, and issues of mutual interest concerning Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi-American community.
His visit has generated considerable enthusiasm among expatriates from Mymensingh, many of whom view the reception as a valuable opportunity to engage directly with their elected representative and exchange views on community and national issues.
Sources said that after completing his New York engagements, including the reception program on Friday, the lawmaker is expected to return to Bangladesh.
Leaders of Mymensingh Abroad USA Inc. have invited Bangladeshi Americans, particularly those from Mymensingh, to attend the reception and participate in the community gathering.
